Gangtok

Gangtok is a beautiful hill station and also the largest city as well as the capital of Sikkim. It is the first destination for the majority of tourists because it is the center for all places and hub for shopping, nightlife, gambling, and transportation. A large number of hotels and restraints are available in M.G Marg which is also the renowned marketplace in the Gangtok main city. It’s a half-kilometer-long marketplace that is crowded every time with locals as well as tourists. It’s a very beautiful place with fountains and plants which are eye-catching. The benches are available for sitting where one can take a glance or relax and enjoy the marketplace. It is also the main hub for crazy shoppers. The local market at the end of the MG Marg is famous for its Chinese sales. The nightlife in Gangtok is wonderful. There are lots of activities that tourists can enjoy. Gangtok covers an area of 19.2 km square and is located at 5,410 feet above sea level with a population of 100290.

North Sikkim

North Sikkim will allow you to explore the enchanting beauty of the Himalayan region. The district headquarters are in Mangan, the seventh least-populated district in India. With a population of just 50,000, the North Sikkim region is one of the most unique destinations in the world. With less population and extremely remote places, here are many things to do and see.

Pelling

Situated at the foot of Mount Khangchendzonga, this town boasts several attractions. Visit the late 17th-century Buddhist monastery, Sanga Choling Monastery, and the gold-plated statue of Guru Padmasambhava in Pemayangtse Monastery. The Rabdentse Palace, which overlooks the valley, is a 17th-century fortification and has traces of the king’s bedroom.

If you’re in town during February/March, you can experience the charm dance and view the beautiful scenery. In addition, you can take part in a mountain bike ride or trek through the surrounding hillsides. Both activities will allow you to get the best view of the Kanchenjunga Mountain. In addition, you can take part in other traditional sports like mountain biking and trekking in the local areas. If you’re a Buddhist, don’t miss the Pemayangtse monastery, which was built in 1647 and enlarged in 1705. This monastery was built to be a place for pure monks. The temple is also a must-see in Pelling. Itinerary

Day 1

New Jalpaiguri Railway Station/Bagdogra Airport – Gangtok (132kms/4.5 hrs )

The pick point for you will be either from New Jalpaiguri (Railway station) or Bagdogra Airport nearby Siliguri, West Bengal. Gangtok is 119 km far from New Jalpaiguri and 123 km far from Bagdogra Airport. It takes nearly 4.5 hours to reach Gangtok from both the pickup points. Both routes merge in Siliguri, Sevoke road and leads to NH10 highway.

The pathway to Gangtok is very mesmerizing with a beautiful view of hills and a river. The river Teesta along the pathway forms the border between Sikkim and West Bengal before joining the Brahmaputra. Alongside, tourists will get a lot of restaurants and hotels on their way to Sikkim. The first entrance to Sikkim will be at the Rangpo check post which will take at least 3 hours. And after entering sikkim it will take 1.5 hours to reach the first destination Gangtok. Your first day’s stay will be at Gangtok. If you reach early you can see and enjoy the nightlife in Gangtok and roam around MG Marg.

Day 2

Gangtok ( Local sightseeing )

Overview
There are beautiful places in the periphery of Sikkim where you can visit temples, monasteries, zoos, viewpoints, and waterfalls. Also, you can do activities like ropeways or paragliding and shop at MG Marg which is a famous place for shoppers in Gangtok.

1.Gangtok Ropeway
The Gangtok ropeway is a cable car that links Deorali Bazaar with Tashiling Secretariat. It offers stunning views of the city and surrounding mountains. The ride costs Rs 20 per person, and it runs every half hour. The journey is only about 25 minutes long. There are also guided tours available. Guests can also purchase a ticket for their family members to use. A ticket is required to use the cable car.

While you’re on the ropeway, be sure to take some photographs – you won’t regret it! The view from above is amazing, and the trip is inexpensive and takes about 15-20 minutes. Moreover, you can stop for snacks at various food joints along the way. For a truly authentic view of Gangtok, take the ropeway. This is a great way to start your sightseeing tour. But be sure to book ahead because it might not operate in all weather conditions.

The Gangtok cable car is a great way to see the town from above. With up to 24 passengers per ride, it’s not a good idea to ride a cable car without a reservation. You won’t get a seat, and you won’t even have the option to take a seat. You’ll find that the cable cars don’t wait until they’re full. This is why it’s best to arrive early and plan accordingly.

2.Tashi View Point

Tashi Viewpoint is a picturesque view of the Gangtok valley, the Phodong Monastery, and the Labrang Monastery. The vantage point is surrounded by dense fog, which is best viewed between March and June. The view is breathtaking, and the viewpoint is open to visitors for free. A small fee is charged for a closer look at Kanchenjunga, as well as a telescope loan.

Tashi Viewpoint is a 7-km drive from Gangtok, and a taxi from the city will get you there in an hour. Once there, you can visit the seven sisters waterfall and Mount Kanchenjunga. The view is so beautiful, you won’t want to leave the park.

To see the magnificent view of the city, you’ll want to spend some time hiking up to the Tashi Viewpoint. While you’re at it, try to visit during the day when the temperature is mild. There’s a cafe at the top of the hill, and you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery. The view from Tashi is the best in Gangtok. If you’re planning to climb the mountain, you’ll want to be there early in the morning.

3.Ganesh Tok
The Hindu temple of Ganesh Tok is a popular attraction in this part of the world. This temple is a beautiful place to visit with sweeping hill views. You can also enjoy light bites & drinks at the temple cafe. A hillside is a perfect place for a hike, but make sure to book your accommodation in advance! There are many things to do in Ganesh Tok, from enjoying the stunning views to visiting the Hindu temple.

The first place you should visit in Gangtok is the Ganesh Tok temple. It is a small shrine that is dedicated to the Hindu deity Ganesha. It is located on a hillside at 6,500 ft and attracts a large number of visitors every year. You can spend the morning or evening here admiring the views. If you’re traveling with a group, you can book a trip to the temple at the Sterling resort. This trip is suitable for individuals or couples.

After your hike, you can spend some time at Ganesh Tok. This temple is situated at a height of about 6500 meters and is very small. You can visit the temple one at a time, but it’s worth paying the extra few dollars to visit both temples. You can visit both the Ganesh Tok and the Hanuman Tok temples. You can also spend the day here because both the temples are located on the top of the mountain.

4. The Himalayan Zoological Park
The Himalayan Zoo is a wonderful place to visit, and it is not only home to some of the rarest animal species, but it is also surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. It is free to visit the Himalayan Zoological Park, but you will have to pay a nominal admission fee. Indians pay Rs. 25/- per person and children pay Rs. 10/-. You can bring your camera and video camera for the entrance fee. The Zoo is open daily from 9 am to 4 pm.

The park is located in Bulbuley, just 3 km from Gangtok. It is located at an altitude of 1780 meters and offers fantastic views of Mount Kanchenjunga. The zoo was opened in 1991 and meets all the requirements of a zoo, including keeping the animals in their natural habitat. This is one of the most beautiful zoological parks in the world. It is highly recommended that you take a day to visit the Himalayan Zoological – it’s worth it!

The Himalayan Zoological Park is a popular destination in Gangtok and is located just six kilometers from the city. The road to the park is only about 2.5 kilometers long and visitors can choose to walk through it or drive a car. However, walking takes a long time, so it’s best to reserve a car for at least half a day. If you are visiting the Himalayan Zoological – a must-visit destination in Sikkim – don’t forget to plan and book a place for a half-day.

5. Banjhakri Waterfall
The Banjhakri Waterfall is also known as Energy Park. It is a recreation center near Gangtok, India. You will see a document about the traditions of Ban Jhakri who used to worship spirits in caves near the falls. Today ice skating is also done in that caves. The park is the most popular attraction in the area for local sightseeing. You can also see many carved images and the local people who live here and interact with them. The local people of Sikkim are very friendly and supportive.

The Banjhakri Waterfall is a natural attraction and it is located near a Ranka Monastery. The place is good if you are looking for a picnic spot or bonding with friends. You can also do swimming here. You can cool off at the waterfall or swim in the lake. You will also find places to sit and rest including a swimming pool and cafe. The cafe has a very reasonable price.
Banjhakri Waterfall is 100 ft high and is the most popular tourist destination. It is also a popular destination for couples. The waterfalls make an excellent place to swim and get away from the busy life. Many local people often visit the place. The waterfall is near Ranka Monastery, so it’s easy to find a spot to spend a romantic evening under the stars.

6.Ranka Moanstry

Ranka Monastery is the most important Buddhist monastery in North East India. The building of this monastic site took several years and is considered a great place for pilgrims to experience Tibetan culture. It is also one of the oldest in Sikkim and was constructed in the year 1931. The monastery is surrounded by a pristine forest and is home to many beautiful monks. The building of the temple was completed in 1999.

The monks and nuns at the Ranka Monastery practice Buddhism, which is a mystical religion. The temple is located near Kabi Lungchok and the MG Marg Market. It is also close to several other places of worship in Gangtok. It is easy to visit the temple by taxi and is easily accessible from the city center. It is a must-visit for all travelers.

Visitors are free to walk throughout the complex. The walls are covered with thankas and hand-painted images. There is a wooden donation box at the entrance. Behind the main building, there is a retreat center where the lamas spend the majority of their time meditating. The extended terrace offers magnificent views of the mountains and the sun setting. 7.MG Marg
After all these local sightseeing places you will be dropped in your hotel and in the evening you can visit MG marg. The destination will be nearby your place so you walk around. A large number of hotels and restaurants are available in M.G Marg which is also the renowned marketplace in the Gangtok main city. It’s a half-kilometer-long marketplace that is crowded every time with locals as well as tourists. It’s a very beautiful place with fountains and plants which are eye-catching. Day 3

Gangtok- Lachen (Full day trip with sightseeing places)

Start your day with Lachen. There are a lot of beautiful sightseeing places between Gangtok to Lachen so it will almost cover all day to reach Lachen and you will be dropped at Lachen hotel in the evening. Your driver will stop you for breakfast and lunch on the way or you will also find small stalls and restaurants near every destination.

Butterfly Waterfall
Butterfly Waterfall is set within the lush, tropical surroundings of the Hidden Valley Inn. This private forest reserve is located just outside of the town of Monticello, Utah. It’s easy to get to, with a trail that winds through semi-tropical forests. Once you’ve reached the waterfall, you’ll be mesmerized by the colorful, ethereal dance of butterflies.

The waterfall is tucked away on private property within the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve, a nature reserve open to the public. Hiking to this secluded natural wonder takes about 30 minutes. It may be difficult to access during heavy rain, so make sure you bring a towel and swimsuit. There is a swimming pool at the base of the waterfall, too. Visitors are encouraged to bring a camera to capture the stunning scenery.

While there are several waterfalls in North Sikkim, Butterfly Falls is one of the most beautiful. Located in the Chungthang Road in Tintek, North Sikkim, you can spend the entire day exploring this beautiful attraction. The trail to the waterfall is about 30 minutes long, and the view is incredible. It’s best to visit in the spring or summer for the most vibrant colors. It’s an amazing way to see a stunning natural wonder.

Dikchu Bridge

Adventure enthusiasts will be delighted to know that the Teesta river is full of adventure activities. The Ranget River, a tributary of the Teesta, flows vigorously. The Dikchu Bridge is one such attraction. Visitors can also enjoy lip-smacking in the northern part of the state. If you are looking for a thrilling adventure, head up to the hillside to try paragliding. There are also many scenic trails in the region. You can even try a yak ride to get a view of the valley.

Tingchim Lake
The lake, located in the forest, is teeming with fish. The lakes are also great for fishing. The surrounding area is beautiful and offers many hiking and mountain biking trails. If you’re looking to stay in a cozy bed, Tingchim is the place for you.

Visitors can spend their time hiking in the surroundings, bird watching, or just enjoying the scenery. There are several places to stay near the lake, and there are many activities you can enjoy. During the summer months, you can enjoy swimming in the lake. During the winters, you can take advantage of the natural cold to visit the nearby Tingchim Monastery. The monasteries of Tingchim have several ancient murals and exhibits.

The 133-year-old monastery of Tingchim Mani Lhakhang is a must-see in the town. The monastery is home to Bumkar Puja, a prayer held during the first week of January.
The town of Tingchim is situated at a high altitude and is surrounded by lush forests and a mystical lake. Tingchim is home to a 13th-century monastery and the Bumkar Puja prayer is held in December and January. In the summer, you can take a short hike up the mountainside to visit Tingchim Manghim, a sacred pond that is teeming with fish.

Naga Waterfalls
Naga waterfall is a beautiful place to take photos, as it’s covered with thick rhododendron trees. There are also several hot Sulphur springs. You can also stop at the Valley of Flowers for lunch or a snack. While you’re at the Falls, make sure you take a look at the surrounding landscape. The vast meadows are filled with flowers, and the river Teesta flows through the valley. Try hiking to Shundu Tanpa and Oanhuri to experience the stunning views.

The waterfalls are located in Chungthang on the Lachung-Yumthang Valleys’ trekking route and are easily accessible from both towns. The waterfalls are surrounded by snow-capped mountains, so you can catch a stunning view of them from here. If you have time to spare, you can stop by the mini cave structure near the water’s edge. It’s a good place to relax for a few days, and you can enjoy a snack as you take in the scenery.

Lachen
This is the place where you will hold after covering all the above sightseeing places. You will reach Lachen by evening so relax and enjoy the place and the local food.
Located in the northern part of Sikkim state, the town of Lachen is the largest of the Sikkim district. It is situated at a high elevation of 2,750 meters and is known as the big pass. Its name refers to its location in the mountains and forms the base of the Chopta Valley, which leads to Gurudongmar Lake. The town has several quaint, old-world hotels and restaurants, which provide a good base for exploring the region.

Visitors should try and spend at least half a day in Lachen, which is very accessible and has a pleasant atmosphere. The people who live here are very friendly and welcoming. However, it is important to seek permission from them before taking photographs or filming them. Also, it is best not to disturb the locals in the village. The village is situated between 17,000ft and 9,000ft, making it an ideal location for tourists to take pictures.

Travelers can make the most of their stay in Lachen by taking the road from Gangtok to the village. This road trip is 118 km long and can take a couple of hours, depending on the road conditions. The main attraction in Lachen is the Gurudongmar Lake, which lies at a height of 17,800ft. You can also visit the nearby villages, including Chopta Valley, en route to Gurudongmar.

Day 4

Lachen –Lachung

Overview
To go to Lachung, you will have to come back to Chungtang and take another route. You will first visit Gurudongmar Lake and come back to Lachen and leave for Lachung. You can also visit Tahngu valley while your way to Gurudongmar Lake. And there is one more destination known as Kala Pathar near Lachen but that will take additional charge. Your driver will manage that in case you are willing to visit.

Gurudongmar Lake

The beautiful Lake is located in the Great Himalayas in the Indian state of Sikkim and is sacred to Hindus, Sikhs, and Buddhists. The first thing to remember when visiting Gurudongmar Lake is that it’s at an altitude of 2,417 meters. You must be prepared to hike up to 2500 meters and back down again.
The area’s scenery is breathtaking. The lake itself is situated at an elevation of 17,800 feet and is surrounded by mountains covered in snow. The views of the surrounding peaks are reflected in its water like a mirror. The Kanchendzonga range and Mount Siniolchu, the tallest peak in Sikkim, are breathtaking. The British mountaineer Douglas Freshfield described the lake as “the prettiest snow mountain in the world”. The landscape is barren and snowy, with stunted shrubs and Alpine pastures.
You should leave the lake at least 3 hours before the sunset. You can visit the monastery at the base of the lake, and then return to Lachen for lunch.

Thangu Valley
One of the most interesting facts about Thangu Valley is that it’s located at a high altitude. It has snow all year round and is a great place to visit for nature lovers. The valley is also surrounded by a huge army base and is difficult to reach even by car. However, it’s well worth the trip for its scenic beauty and quaint villages. It’s a beautiful spot for a hike and a relaxing breakfast. If you’re a nature lover, you’ll be thrilled to know that you can still enjoy the natural beauty in the middle of summer.

Be sure to bring a camera as there are countless wildflowers, rhododendrons, and other plants. You’ll also want to bring some waterproof equipment, as the area is prone to flooding. You should also prepare for a cold, rainy day. It changes from season to season so we will guide you accordingly.

Kala Pathar ( Additional Charge)
Kala Pathar is a toxic herb that is highly lethal when ingested. Although most of these cases have been adult patients, pediatric patients have also been reported in Southern Punjab. Because of its high toxicity and high mortality, treatment is multidisciplinary and should involve a tracheostomy. This herb is available from many places in the world, but its safe use is best left to those who have expertise in its use.

The region is very sensitive because of its proximity to China. Most tourists will flock to neighboring Havelock Island to get a glimpse of its picturesque vistas. This is an ideal destination for those who want to experience the beauty of nature without the crowds. Because of its proximity to popular tourist destinations, the Kala Pathar beach remains largely unspoiled, giving visitors a peaceful retreat and immaculate sands.

The area boasts beautiful mountains, lush forests, and a variety of wildlife. The beach itself is pristine, and the water is clear and turquoise blue. Day 5

Lachung – Gangtok

Overview
Today you will visit the places around Lachung and finally return and hold at Gangtok. There are very beautiful places to visit around. Just that there are additional charges for two destinations( Zero point & Katao). If you are willing to take that tour you can consult with the driver at the same time and we will also be available to guide you for that.

Yumthang Valley
Yumthang, the valley of flowers is a gorgeous area with hot springs, yaks, rolling meadows, and a river surrounded by the majestic Himalayan range. This picturesque destination is well worth the trip.

Visit the Yumthang Valley during the flowering season, which is from March to June. Before this time, the valley is too cold. After that, it gets extremely cold. You’ll find white snow everywhere. Even at night, the temperatures can drop to freezing, so pack light woolens. In winter, heavy snowfalls and landslides make the road to the region dangerous. If you go in the spring, the weather is beautiful and you’ll have the opportunity to see the beautiful rhododendrons in bloom.

When visiting the Yumthang Valley, it is best to visit during February and March. This is when you’ll be able to attend the Losar Festival. You’ll also see many locals dressed in traditional dress and enjoy cultural shows. You’ll have an amazing time in this spectacular valley.

Zero Point ( Additional Charge)
A visit to Zero Point in Sikkim is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. You will be awestruck by the natural beauty of this place. The peaks of the mountains, encircling the steep valley, are covered with snow all year long. You can even catch a glimpse of Switzerland as you walk through the alpine forests. You can visit the region as a day trip, as it’s not overly crowded.

The best time to visit Yumesamdong is from March to April. The region is covered with snow during winter, which makes it even more picturesque. The other best time to visit is between October and December. If you are looking for a memorable trip to Sikkim, this is it. There are several other tourist destinations to consider when planning your trip to the mountain. In particular, Zero Point is a hidden gem that’s worth a stop.

Katao ( Additional Charge)
The name Katao means “little pass” in Nepali. It is a beautiful small village located at an altitude of 8610 feet. The name is a welcome sight for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and photographers alike. The first few letters of the name are pronounced Oatak and Atoka. This Sikkim baby name is a rare find. It is a great choice for a name that has a definite meaning.

Mount Katao is the highest mountain in Sikkim and is 144 km from Gangtok. Visitors can ski, snowboard, grind, or do any other type of winter sport. A military base and a telecommunication tower are also located at the base. The mountain offers magnificent views to onlookers. The best time to visit is in the winter and should be planned well in advance. The best time to visit is early January through late March.

Travelers can get to Katao from the town of Lachung. However, the road to Katao can be dangerous due to the thin layer of ice. If you plan on trekking to the summit, make sure to plan a day in which you’ll be able to drive down the mountain and back.

Day 7

Gangtok- Pelling

Overview
Today you will be leaving for Pelling and it is a 130 km drive which will approximately take 5-6hrs and since there are beautiful sightseeing places on your way it’s almost a full-day trip. On your way, you will be visiting the famous Char Dham(Temple) or Ravangla Buddha Park which are the major attractions for travelers. You will be dropped at the Pelling hotel by evening.

Chardham Namchi
Located about 2 hours away from Gangtok, Char Dham is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Sikkim. It consists of four shrines, including the 33 m tall Shiva statue on the Solophok peak. Located between the towns of Jorethang and Melli, this sacred place is an enchantment of profound serenity. The temple is home to replicas of the twelve jyotirlingas and a giant statue of Lord Shiva. Located on a hilltop, the Namchi Shiva complex is the highest point in the area. Standing 87 feet high, the statue of the deity overlooks the rest of the complex. The temple is also surrounded by 12 Jyotirlingas, which are the most prominent Shiva temples in India. The replicas of the originals are housed in the Char Dham.

Buddha Park Ravangla
The Buddha Park of Ravangla, also called the Tathagata Tsal, is a spiritual center near the town of Rivangla, located in the Indian state of Sikkim. The complex is dedicated to the teachings of the Buddha. At one end of the park is a temple dedicated to the enlightened. While visiting the stupa, be sure to take some time to meditate on the meaning of life.

The park has a beautiful waterfall and a beautiful statue of Buddha. The main attraction of the park is the huge, 40-meter-high statue of Buddha, but there are many other sites to visit. A museum and meditation center is located inside the complex, and you can also find Buddhist rituals performed here. The area has ample parking space and clean washrooms. It also features a beautiful water fountain. It is a great place for a family outing and is a popular destination for tourists.

The park features a colossal statue of the Buddha and is the most important landmark in Sikkim. It is also known as Tathagata Tsal and features a peaceful ambiance. It is a great place to meditate and visit if you are in search of spirituality. A meditation center and museum are also located in the park, as is a Buddhist conclave. The colossal statue is the center of attraction in the park.

Pelling

Darap Valley
Located in Sikkim, Darap is 8 km away from Pelling and a 20-minute drive from Yuksom. The Darap Valley is a peaceful and offbeat destination with a unique culture and beautiful landscape. Local people have made the village popular by developing the tourism industry. During the harvest time, bough wheat farms flower and are photogenic. In addition to trekking, you can also enjoy a traditional tea ceremony and a traditional meal in the village.

Sky Walk
Skywalk Pelling is a glass foot-over bridge located in the town of Pelling, Sikkim. Located in the valley, the structure provides stunning views of the surrounding mountain scenery. Visitors can walk among waterfalls and lush forests and marvel at monasteries on the other side. The skywalk is adjacent to the Chenrezig statue, which offers a stunning view of Mount Kanchenjunga. The walk is accessible year-round on all-weather roads.

One can walk on top of the statue to see a breathtaking view of the town and its surroundings. The skywalk is India’s first glass skywalk and is set at a height of 137 feet. Day 9

Pelling- New Jalpaiguri Station/Bagdogra Airport (4.5 hrs drive-130km)

This is the day that you are returning. It nearly takes 4.5 hrs but you should at least take 6 hrs in hand and march because sometimes you might face traffic or disturbance on your way back. We always prefer this so that you will be available on time for your train or flight. Pack everything carefully and start your journey back with all the memories and good times you had on this tour. We wish you safe travel back to your home.
